I said it before, and I'll say it again, sometimes you need an explanation that isn't too "mathy". The Idiot's Guide lays it out in plane English.
Get Graphing
As an engineer/analyst, the top two tools I use are Matlab and Excel. I used Excel to provide solutions on this blog because almost everyone has access to it, but for 3D graphing it's hard to beat Matlab.
